Description
Ancipes is a work in vocalises for Soprano or melodic instrument ad lib. & Flute with B foot ad lib.
Commissioned by Soprano Marie Lombard and flautist Camille Chaumont, it was premiered in May 2019 at the Rennes Opera, its title from Latin means "who has two heads" or "double, hesitant, ambiguous". Treating the flute and the voice as a single instrument that dissociates, the work explores with virtuosity the inconstancy of human relationships, strewn with pitfalls, from unity to completeness.
