Description

Das Märchen von der Wolke, Koulume Nehan Tonghao in Korean, commissioned in its initial form for the traditional Korean instruments Kayageum and Jaggu by Mezzo Soprano Ji-Youn Park, is a contemporary work by Maël Fauvy based on the eponymous poem by Reiner Maria Rilke: The Cloud Rhyme.
His recomposition for guitar and percussion ad lib and for the Mezzo Soprano Sophie Belloir was premiered in 2019 at the Rennes Opera.

The work evokes the usual playing methods of Kayageum and Janggu using various accessories (various sticks and bottlenecks).
The song, whose prosody is designed for the Korean translation of the poem, is presented in Korean (Latin and Korean forms) and in German.
