Description

Le Jour Que Je Suis Né is a work for violin and voice based on a traditional Acadian drinking song. The writing encourages performers to confront each other through the juxtaposition of contemporary (for the violin) and traditional (for singing) musical aesthetics but also two contradictory interpretations of the text : one simple and cheerful, the other more cerebral and dark.
